"These books have been years in the making. They started to form when I was a teenager and only crept onto paper in my 66th year. I wrote these books for several reasons.

"The first reason was that I would have liked to have seen a comprehensive guide to all the subjects that the student of Ceremonial or Ritual magic needs to know to practice magic. Each of the areas of knowledge forms a portal into the magical world. Each pathway should be fully explored when passing through its portal.

"I also wanted to see something that brought all of the portals and paths together in one place as I so often wished for in the earlier days of my practice. I wanted to see a book (or books as it later turned out) that covered the basics in a very down-to-earth and practical manner.

"Lastly, thank you for walking this path with me, even for a little while and I wish you peace and joy."
