Sebastian Fairlight is the author of Magical Portals, a trilogy of books that introduces the reader to the basics of ceremonial magic as practised in the Western Esoteric Tradition. The books introduce divination, the characteristics needed by the magician, correspondences, and the Pentagram ritual (in book 1). Book 2 covers the magical working tools and the different types of ritual, and finally, in Book 3, the basics of the Qabalist view of the universe and how it affects the construction of the magician's rituals.

This is a book about the portals to Ritual or Ceremonial Magic. It contains all the basics, beginning with the most fundamental levels. The goal of Ritual Magic is to fulfil a specific objective, such as healing, love, or wealth, to enable personal transformation and spiritual growth, and this book gives you all the methods. The basics of Ritual Magic cover Invocation and Evocation, creating a magical environment, and the importance of Magical Intent. This book focuses on the Magician's Intent by covering all the necessary preparations, knowledge, and mindsets. Another key subject covered is visualisation, essential to crystallising the Intent.

We will explore magical tools, different types of ritual, and the various states of consciousness found within magical practice - the different ways of perceiving the universe that arise when you actually do the work. When I wrote Keys to the Portals of Magic, my goal was simple: to explain how practical ceremonial magic actually works. I did that by using plain language and real-world experience, instead of gatekeeping the mysteries or acting like a guru. If the first book was about learning how to open a portal or doorway, then this one is about learning how to walk through it, without tripping over the threshold or your own feet.

The third and final book in the series covers the magical universe and all of its denizens. It is a basic masterwork on the magical Qabalah. Covering the Sephiroth and the 22 paths that join them, this book provides the culmination of magical practice that the entire trilogy of Magical Portals has been building up for.
